"Josh ran great today," admitted head coach Scott Schochler, "and really another strong performance during a great season. It was a loaded field and a tough course. He stuck his nose in the front group, but paid for his early pace later in the race

"It was a very difficult course, but I couldn't be more proud of a young man that has put in a tremendous amount of work, really everything that we have asked of him. I think he has two more strong years of competing to finish in the top of the field at the National Championships."

Uzelac completed an average of 26:01 over seven eight-kilometer meets this season, easily setting a new program record in lowest average time, since the program was rebooted in 2008.
