JBU Swimmers Finish Well at Henderson State

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 22, 2005) - The John Brown Golden Eagles swim team finished in the middle of the pack at the Henderson State Invitational this weekend in Arkadelphia, Ark. The Golden Eagles placed 5th out of 7 teams, but scored just five fewer points than the 3rd place team. Arkansas-Little Rock scored 245 points followed by Austin College (Texas) with 242 and John Brown with 240. Ouachita Baptist (Ark.) won the meet with 391 points, and Henderson State was a distant second with 324 points. Hendrix (Ark.) finished 6th with just 166 points, and Lambuth (Tenn.) came in last with 152.

John Brown’s Gabby McCully and Jenny Brown both qualified for the NAIA Nationals in the 400-yard individual medley. McCully swam the race in 5:07.86, and Brown swam it in 5:15.43. Becca Camfield also swam the 200-yard freestyle in 2:12.97.
