JBU’s Todescan Earns National Honors

Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 13, 2005) - John Brown setter Juliana Todescan was named the national Setter of the Week Wednesday by the NAIA. Todescan, a 6’0”junior psychology major from Sao Paulo, Brazil, averaged 14.63 assists, 2.5 digs, 1.25 kills, and .25 blocks per game during last weekend’s wins over College of the Southwest (N.M.) and Texas-Permian Basin. She is the second Golden Eagle in two weeks to receive an NAIA weekly award. Prior to last week, a John Brown player had not received such an award since 1999.

Head coach Robyn Gordon praised Todescan, “What an honor for Ju and for JBU. She is highly respected by all of the Region VI coaches, and it is an honor for her to be recognized nationally for her accomplishments. She is an all-around great player who runs the offense very well and knows who to get the ball to.”

The Golden Eagles (20-5) are ranked 25th in the nation and 3rd in the NAIA Region VI.
