JBU Women Shutout Oklahoma Wesleyan

Siloam Springs, Ark. (August 30, 2005) - The John Brown Golden Eagles women’s soccer team completed their second-straight shutout Tuesday, drubbing Oklahoma Wesleyan 8-0. John Brown (2-0) has yet to be scored upon this season. They defeated Lyon 6-0 on Saturday.

Junior transfer Crystal Perez kicked off the scoring with a goal in the 4th minute on an assist by junior Nikki Ganter. In the 12th minute, Ganter scored the first of her three first-half goals. Perez scored twice more before halftime, and the Golden Eagles led 6-0 at the break. Freshman Sharon Burley scored John Brown’s two second-half goals, one on Ganter’s second assist of the day. Burley, Amber Aparicio, and Casey Anderson all had one assist apiece.

The Golden Eagles travel to Milwaukee, Wis., this weekend for three games in the Cardinal Stritch University Tournament.
