JBU Women Lose to Number Two SNU

Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 22, 2002) - The JBU women, who only trailed by 5 points at the break to the powerhouse No. 2 ranked SNU Crimson Storm, could never get any offense going as SNU pulled away in the second half winning 67-34. JBU was lead by Katie Elliott with 8 points and 7 rebounds.

“They used their size and a half court trap to neutralize our half court offense. We were able to stay in the game in the first half with our defense, but I was concerned at the half with our inability to score. I was hoping to keep it close and make a run late. They made a run early in the second half which we were unable to recover from,” commented coach Jeff Soderquist.

The Golden Eagles finish out the regular season on the road Saturday at St. Gregory’s Univerisity at 1 and 3 p.m. JBU travels to Lubbock, Texas next week for the SAC conference tournament.
