Fall 2020 Commencement Traditional Undergraduates

Dear Graduating Seniors,

Congratulations on your approaching graduation from JBU! I know you’ve been anxious to hear about commencement plans, and we appreciate your patience while we worked out the details.

We will have a fall commencement for traditional undergraduates on Saturday, November 21, at 10 a.m. in Bill George Arena. Please note that this is based on current guidelines in place by the Arkansas Department of Health. If ADH restrictions or campus operations are significantly altered before November 21, we will update you on how commencement is affected.

Each graduate will be limited to four family members in attendance due to occupancy and physical distancing requirements of the ADH. We will stream the ceremony on YouTube so that extended family, friends and other students can watch and celebrate your accomplishments. We will be issuing tickets to each graduate in November that will be required for entry into commencement. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

The commencement date does not alter the academic calendar and graduates are still required to attend class on November 23 and 24 and take their final exams. Additional information can be found at our commencement FAQ here.

As always, your participation in commencement is dependent on meeting the requirements set forth by the Registrar’s Office, including applying for graduation. If you have questions about that process, please email registrar@jbu.edu. Otherwise, watch your email for important updates from the Registrar’s Office.

Again, because of the uncertainty surrounding the pandemic, we would recommend that guests check airline and hotel refund policies as they make arrangements.

Congratulations again on this achievement. We look forward to celebrating you!
