JBU Announcements

Wednesday, Feb. 17, 11:30 a.m.

After reviewing the weather forecast, JBU will operate under our Inclement Weather Policy tomorrow, Feb. 18, and return to normal operations on Friday, Feb. 19.

Under this policy, classes will be held in person unless the instructor cannot make it to campus for weather-related reasons, in which case they will determine what to do about their classes and communicate that to students. It also recognizes and allows for flexibility for off-campus students who can’t get to campus safely.

Dining Services will resume regular hours in Kresge Dining Hall and California Café on Friday. The bookstore & mailroom will reopen Thursday.

Monday, Feb. 15, 2:45 p.m.

REMOTE INSTRUCTION
With a new Winter Storm Watch forecasting snow overnight Tuesday and continued sub-zero temperatures, we will continue with remote instruction and work through at least Wednesday.

CHAPEL & ASH WEDNESDAY
Tuesday and Thursday Chapel Groups are canceled this week, and all students will receive chapel credit. Ash Wednesday services are canceled.

WLHC
Though closed to the public, the WLHC is open to JBU faculty, staff and students until 10 p.m. tonight and tomorrow 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Watch their Facebook page for more info throughout the week.

ROLLING BLACKOUTS
Due to the winter weather affecting the whole Southwest Power Pool (some 17 states), JBU has been notified that Siloam Springs, including JBU, may experience rolling blackouts in the next 48 hours. Students should refer to the email they received for more details.

Sunday, Feb. 14, 4:30 p.m.

Given the forecast for more snow this evening and freezing temperatures tomorrow, JBU will operate remotely on Monday, February 15. The main Siloam Springs campus and the Rogers and Little Rock centers will be closed. On-campus students, please look for email instructions from your faculty about scheduled classes and whether they will be held remotely or canceled. Kresge Dining Hall will remain open to serve meals.

Employees, please contact your supervisor if you have any questions about working remotely tomorrow. Hourly employees who cannot work remotely may use the inclement weather option on their time card listed with “other time.” If you have a question about accessing the inclement weather option, please contact askHR@jbu.edu

We encourage everyone to be careful to limit time outdoors and on the roads because of the winter weather risks.  ‚Äč
