Model United Nations at JBU

Are you interested in international affairs? Do you enjoy researching important issues? Want to learn more about diplomacy? You might be a good fit for Model United Nations at JBU!

Each February, JBU sends student delegates to the Midwest Model United Nations (MMUN) meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. These students represent their assigned nation amidst hundreds of other student delegates from dozens of regional colleges and universities.

According to MMUN’s website, “Model UN refers to simulations designed to emulate the workings of the United Nations, including the work of committees, parliamentary procedure, negotiation, the drafting of resolutions, and more. MMUN strives to emulate the UN in its operations and structure, within the confines of the conference.”

With JBU Model UN, you will…

  • Hone your research skills, defend specific interests, and negotiate compromises in a diplomatic environment
  • Get to know people with shared interests from different majors
  • Develop skills that will serve you well, at JBU and beyond
