Global Perspective of Elementary Education

Student Stories

With 650 million school-aged children in the world, there is a need for teachers to serve in a variety of capacities all over the world.

The education program at John Brown University prepares teachers with the world in mind.

Our students graduate with over 600 hours of field experience in local schools thanks to our partnership with the Siloam Springs School District. Within our community there is incredible diversity with 16 different "first languages" being spoken in the SSSD schools and over 55 percent of students on free or reduced lunch.

Multiple short-term international trips provide great opportunities for our education students including a an outreach in the Guatemala City Dump and summer tutoring opportunities in Lithuania.

Students also have the opportunity to complete their part of their internship requirement in inner-city schools around the nation or in other countries.
