As the computer science field continues to grow, the demand for professionals with programming experience has increased greatly, and computer programming is a skill that will be needed in the future for many career fields. JBU Computer Science Department presents the Computer Science Academy which is an 8-week program designed to teach 7th-12th grade students the basics of programming. It offers courses in the basics of JavaScript using Khan Academy’s computer science curriculum. Students will be led in a 1.5-hour session each week with guidance from on-site teachers, each day developing new skills and knowledge in computer programming. Each student will be able to interact 1-on-1 with a teacher when they have questions or need clarification.

Cost: $100 

Time:  Saturday mornings, 10:00-11:30 am

Dates: October 5 - November 23

Location: Balzer Technology Center Computer Lab (1st floor), John Brown University
