The Computer Science Academy is back for Fall 2021

 

As the Computer Science field continues to grow, the demand for professionals with programming experience has significantly increased and computer programming is a skill that will be needed in the future for many career fields.

JBU Computer Science Department presents the Computer Science Academy, which is a 10-week program designed to teach 6th-12th grade students the basics of programming. It offers courses in the fundamentals of Python using original computer science curriculum. Students will be led in a 2-hour session each week (Saturdays) from 12:30 - 2:30 pm (CST) with guidance from on-site student-teachers, each day developing new skills and knowledge in computer programming. Each student will be able to interact 1-on-1 with a student-teacher when they have questions or need clarification. 

Attendance: In-person or on Zoom

Cost: $100 (Partial scholarships for students with a financial need are available on a limited basis. Email Heidi Smith (hsmith@jbu.edu) for more information.) 

Saturday Dates:

September: 18th, 25th

October: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th

November: 6th, 13th, 20th
