Why Study Accounting at JBU?

Experienced faculty. JBU’s accounting professors have years of real-world experience in public, private, and governmental entities. They know their stuff, and they are passionate about helping you succeed.

Real-life application. It is not uncommon to find yourself creating financial statements for a start-up company in Chile, or to help undereducated business professionals all over the world learn how to successfully run their companies. Being able to directly apply classroom concept to hands-on projects allows students to see the power of their education.

Employment opportunities. Our alumni are successful, just ask them! It is not uncommon for our students to get multiple offers from the “big four” accounting firms (E&Y, Price Waterhouse Cooper, and Deloitte).

Christ-centered education. We believe business is more than profits. We will teach you how to use your skills in a way that’s honoring to God and share valuable insights on how to look at teammates and bosses in a different manner. We will prepare you for secular attacks on Christian employees and teach you how to respond in a way that reflects Christ’s redeeming love.

Service projects. Accounting majors have a chance to serve others in the community. Students participate in consulting projects that offer free accounting services to local companies, such as analyzing ways to increase company efficiency and drive down costs.

Change communities. You will have the chance to change communities for the better through the JBU business club ENACTUS (Entrepreneurs in Action). You will create innovative and sustainable solutions to pressing social issues, making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
