Position summary

The Marketing Coordinator supports John Brown University’s efforts to market its Online Undergraduate and Graduate programs. This individual will work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment to coordinate creative and effective communications and marketing initiatives to achieve lead generation goals for JBU’s Graduate and Online Undergraduate programs. This position currently reports to the Digital Marketing Specialist and is a member of the University Marketing & Communications team. This position can work at the Rogers Center or the main campus in Siloam Springs with occasional travel to the opposite location.

Position Responsibilities 

  • Develop strategic marketing initiatives and activities to generate a sufficient quantity of leads for JBU’s Graduate an Online programs
  • Implement marketing plans that include print and online content
  • Conduct market research to identify marketing opportunities
  • Ensure marketing initiatives for the Graduate and Online programs compliment JBU’s overall marketing strategy
  • Write, implement, track and optimize email marketing campaigns
  • Coordinate the design and placement of advertising in publications, billboards, etc. and other promotional materials
  • Develop and coordinate event sponsorship opportunities
  • Manage appropriate social media channels (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) for JBU’s Graduate and Online programs
  • Track and report key performance indicators in user-friendly formats
  • Manage the procurement of video and photography for marketing
  • Edit Graduate and Online webpages
  • Pay marketing invoices and track expenses to stay in budget

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Knowledge of marketing, branding and lead generation
  • Exceptional written communications skills, including the ability to convey messaging in an engaging, persuasive and concise manner
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to create simple graphics for social media, adhering to basic graphic design principles
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines, self-manage projects, solve problems and manage time and priorities effectively


Bachelor’s degree required – marketing or related field.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
