Coordinator of Stewardship and Development Marketing

Position summary

The Coordinator of Stewardship and Development Marketing is responsible for writing and creating stewardship reports and coordinating various marketing projects in an effort to express JBU’s gratitude to the donor base, and to keep alumni, parents and friends informed with the latest campus news, giving opportunities and events. This position calls for an organized person who can manage multiple projects at one time with a creative spirit, strong writing skills, graphic design experience, and an ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Position Responsibilities 

  • Reports to Senior Director of Development and Planned Giving to set goals and objectives
  • Design, produce, and manage stewardship reports and other stewardship opportunities for JBU donors
  • Create and edit gift proposals for prospective JBU donors
  • Coordinate development marketing projects
  • Design, create, write and/or edit materials for fundraising projects and programs upon request
  • Organizes and writes thank you letters to key supporters for the Vice President for University Advancement to sign and mail
  • Assumes responsibility for meeting goals and deadlines for stewardship and marketing projects and maintaining quality control
  • Act as liaison between Development and University Communications on marketing projects
  • Responsible for contracting with outside designers, printers, and mailing facilities (when necessary)
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience 

  • Experience in writing, graphic design, and project management is vital to this position.
  • Experience with publication and layout programs (Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access
  • Must have excellent writing skills
  • Be project oriented, with ability to move multiple projects forward simultaneously
  • Ability to edit/proof materials and initiate/create various reports and articles
  • Ability to work independently

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal

The employee is expected to adhere to all University policies.
