Position summary

Provides direct support to students affected by COVID exposure and coordinates internal university testing and vaccination efforts and communicates with external state organizations on behalf of the university.

Position Responsibilities 

  • Function as the point of contact with the Arkansas Department of Health and the University of Arkansas Medical School contact tracers.
  • Ongoing meetings with the COVID Care Team to coordinate student quarantine and isolation.
  • Do contact tracing and follow up.
  • Act as primary contact person and coordinator of institutional vaccination and testing clinics.
  • Provide weekly reports to institution about COVID numbers, surveillance testing, and vaccination statistics.
  • Coordinates with Residence Life, the Office of Christian Formation, and the Counseling Center to provide student care.
  • Communicate with students in quarantine and isolation and their families.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Management and organizational skills.  Time and stress management skills

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Computer word processing, spreadsheet, and data management skills.
  • Health or social service work background.


Bachelor’s degree in any area preferred.


Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
