Clinic Coordinator-Little Rock

The Clinic Coordinator - LR is a split faculty/clinical administrative position whose primary function is providing strategic management and oversight of the JBU Community Counseling Clinic (CCC) - LR within the Department of Graduate Counseling (DGC).  This position reports directly to the Graduate Counseling Department Head and works alongside the Executive Clinical Director and Field Placement Director in clinical administrative responsibilities.  The primary office for this position is in the CCC - LR with travel sometimes required between JBU Counselor Education Centers, campuses, and clinics.  This position must be flexible and available to work weekday evenings and the occasional weekend.


Clinic Coordinator - LR duties:

  • Managing and overseeing campus and clinic facilities, technologies, procedures, financial transactions, and information management systems at the Little Rock campus.
  • Managing and supervising all CCC trainees, staff, graduate assistants (GAs), contracted employees, and faculty using the CCCC, including training and orienting these professionals to CCC policies and procedures.
  • Managing and coordinating clinic schedules, open hours, and clinical coverage, including individual/weekly and on-site supervision.
  • Manage internship records, record-keeping, and informational technology, including site/student data, activity logs, evaluations, and contracts.
  • Providing regular reports of CCC financial and clinical activity to the DGC.
  • Providing ad hoc supervision/consultation for crisis and emergency cases as needed.
  • Providing informal intervention and remediation for CCC trainees with identified developmental and competency issues as needed.
  • Providing a minimum of 3 hours per week of individual/triadic supervision to CCC trainees per semester.
  • Ensuring the CCC is operating within ethical and legal guidelines of professional counseling practice as well as DGC policies and procedures for clinical training, including:
  • Ensuring each JBE Practicum/Internship student placed at the CCC receives weekly individual/triadic supervision.
  • Ensuring on-site licensed clinical coverage during CCC open hours as follows:
    • Providing a minimum of two evenings per week of CCC coverage. This requirement can be met while providing individual/group supervision or performing clinical services in the CCC-LR during open hours. 
    • Coordinating clinic coverage when teaching or off-site performing other duties.
  • Providing up to 8 hours per week of direct/indirect counseling or related services in the CCC. This activity meets the professional development requirement for JBU faculty.
  • Assisting in community outreach as an ambassador of JBU and the CCC within the local community, including establishing referral resources and developing strategic partnerships with counseling agencies and professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Graduate Counseling Department faculty duties:

  • Teach an annual load of 18 credit hours for the DGC in LR. This requires afternoon/evening availability outside of clinical coverage duties for up to two additional evenings.
  • Other faculty expectations and duties as outline in JBU’s Faculty Handbook.

Weekly Time Allocation (Approximate):

  • 40% Clinical Coordinator Duties
  • 60% Graduate Counseling Department Faculty Duties


This position reports to and is supervised by the Graduate Counseling Department Head.


Education and Certification

  • Minimum of Master’s degree in Counseling or related field. Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision preferred.
  • Licensed (or license eligible) as a counselor (or marriage and family therapist) in the state of Arkansas. 
  • Relevant supervisor experience and credentials. Approved Clinic Supervisor or state license in supervision preferred.


  • A minimum of three years' experience as a licensed counselor (or marriage and family therapist).
  • Clinical and administrative experience in an academic or community mental health center context preferred.  Experience in collaborating with local agencies/churches is beneficial.  

Skills Required

Must possess strong administration and supervision skills, including planning, organizing, assessing, and revising systems, processes, and procedures.  Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, effective team leadership skills, the ability to use various clinic/office technologies and the ability to navigate academic learning management systems.  Must have effective peer collaboration and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated track record of connecting with and maintaining positive working relationships with diverse constituents.  Must have a proven ability to teach, present, train, and supervise counselors effectively at the graduate level.
