The Soderquist College of Business at John Brown University ( seeks a full-time faculty member with a strong commitment to teaching and the integration of Christian faith to begin by July 1, 2022. Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, teaching courses in one or more areas of construction management at the undergraduate level (estimating, scheduling, contracting, structures, mechanical/electrical systems, safety, or surveying). Additional opportunities could include managing student-led construction projects. Other responsibilities include academic advising and mentoring students, recruiting for the major, and service on university committees.


The Soderquist College of Business includes the traditional undergraduate, online undergraduate, and graduate programs. Traditional undergraduate programs include majors in Accounting, Construction Management, Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Economics, Finance, Integrated Marketing Communications, International Business, Management, and Marketing, all delivered in a residential setting.  Graduate Business Programs include the Master of Business Administration with emphases in Accounting, Design Thinking & Innovation, Healthcare Administration, International Business, Market Research & Consumer Insights; and the Master of Science in Leadership.  Program delivery is on-site at locations in Arkansas and online.  Online undergraduate programs include Management and Organizational Leadership.  Collectively, the College of Business is the largest portfolio of programs at JBU with continuing growth in enrollment and diversity.  Training leaders with integrity, character, and trustworthiness based on a Christ-centered model is a priority.  John Brown University's Construction Management program is one of 67 baccalaureate degree programs accredited in accordance with the standards and procedures of the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree or higher in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, architectural engineering or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and people in the construction industry
  • Ability to teach undergraduate courses
  • A commitment to the integration of the Christian faith and your vocation
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population
  • Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ

Preferred Qualifications

  • A doctorate degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, architectural engineering or a closely related field
  • Experience managing projects and people as a senior leader in the construction industry.
  • Relevant professional registration and/or certifications (PE, CPC, PMP, PSP, etc.).
  • Evidence of scholarly potential or important contributions to the field
  • Experience teaching undergraduate students
  • Demonstrated experience with diverse populations


A competitive salary exists which will be commensurate with training and/or experience.
