Position

The Soderquist College of Business at John Brown University (https://www.jbu.edu/business/) seeks a full-time faculty member with a strong commitment to teaching and the integration of Christian faith to begin by July 1, 2022. Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, teaching courses in one or more areas of business at the undergraduate or graduate level. Additional opportunities could include leading our ENACTUS team and efforts with social entrepreneurship. Other responsibilities include academic advising and mentoring students, recruiting for the major, and service on university committees.

Program

The Soderquist College of Business includes the traditional undergraduate, online undergraduate, and graduate programs. Traditional undergraduate programs include majors in Accounting, Construction Management, Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Economics, Finance, Integrated Marketing Communications, International Business, Management, and Marketing, all delivered in a residential setting.  Graduate Business Programs include the Master of Business Administration with emphases in Accounting, Design Thinking & Innovation, Healthcare Administration, International Business, Market Research & Consumer Insights; and the Master of Science in Leadership.  Program delivery is on-site at locations in Arkansas and online.  Online undergraduate programs include Management and Organizational Leadership.  Collectively, the College of Business is the largest portfolio of programs at JBU with continuing growth in enrollment and diversity.  Training leaders with integrity, character, and trustworthiness based on a Christ-centered model is a priority.  JBU business programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree or higher in Management, International Business, Entrepreneurship, or a closely related field
  • A commitment to teaching undergraduate and/or courses
  • A commitment to the integration of the Christian faith and teaching
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students
  • Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ

Preferred Qualifications

  • A doctorate degree in Management, Marketing, International Business, Entrepreneurship or a closely related field
  • Experience in industry
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses
  • Evidence of continuous learning (e.g., scholarship, industry certifications, consulting)
  • Demonstrated experience with diverse populations
  • Willingness to advise student-led organizations

Salary

A competitive salary exists which will be commensurate with training and/or experience. In addition, JBU offers a comprehensive benefits package including 403(b) retirement plan, medical and dental insurance, tuition remission, leave related to the birth of a child, adoption leave, and moving expenses.

Important Dates

Position begins July 1, 2022. Screening process begins October 25, 2021, and continues until the position is filled.
