Position Summary

The Social Media and Content Coordinator is an entry level position that works collaboratively with the Director of Design & Marketing and the Undergraduate Enrollment Team to develop excellent and engaging content for JBU’s social media platforms, website and marketing materials. Being creative and resourceful, the coordinator will develop and execute a social media and content calendar that coordinates with long and short term marketing strategies. Working with the University Communications team, the coordinator will share his or her talents, experience and perspective to contribute to the overall communication goals of JBU: to promote JBU and advance the mission of the university.

  • Ability to articulate the benefits of a Christian college experience, including a clear and concise position on the issue of integration of faith, learning and living
  • Commitment to the Articles of Faith, Mission, and Objectives of the University; and desires to be a role model for students by demonstrating an active Christian faith in personal example and in work related responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media and content marketing strategies including an annual calendar
  • Research, create, edit, schedule and proof social and blog content
  • Research and write content for traditional and digital advertising, brochures, emails and the JBU website
  • Assist in the writing of video scripts
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends, online community activity, social media developments and tools, and competitor strategies
  • Manage JBU’s Digital Ambassador Program (student content creators)
  • Assist the Dir. of Design & Marketing in developing strategies to accomplish the general marketing goals of TUG enrollment (inquiries, applications, visits and yield)
  • Assist in the development and engagement of the Marketing Advisory Board
  • Represent TUG Enrollment in cross-university social media projects
  • Set objectives and accomplish them without the need for frequent follow-up
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • Video and editing skills are preferred

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
