Assistant Dean, Enrollment Management & Site Operations

Position Summary

The Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management & Site Operations oversees admissions, recruitment, advising, marketing, corporate relations and communications for JBU’s Online and Graduate programs. Additionally, the assistant dean is responsible for oversight of educational centers in Fort Smith, Little Rock and Rogers, Arkansas. This position is primarily housed in at the JBU Rogers Center, but will include frequent travel to the main campus in Siloam Springs as well as other site locations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages the budget of JBU Online site operations as well as enrollment and marketing budgets for the Graduate School and JBU Online
  • Supervises enrollment management and site operations personnel at multiple locations
  • Develops and executes recruitment strategies to meet John Brown University’s adult program enrollment goals; provides vision and accountability for progress toward achieving goals
  • Coordinates travel and oversees recruitment calendar planning for Graduate and Online Undergraduate enrollment representatives
  • Oversees the development and implementation of marketing and lead generation strategies that result in the increase of inquiry and application pools and for reaching pre-determined enrollment goals
  • Works with the Deans, Program Directors and enrollment staff to identify, establish and advance key community college and corporate relationships
  • Maintains accurate enrollment data and tracking for all adult programs; oversees enrollment data integrity
  • Develops and maintains a marketing plan to support the university brand and maintain sufficient lead generation numbers for all programs in JBU Online and the Graduate School
  • Oversees the creation and implementation of content on Graduate School and JBU Online websites; coordinates social media presence for all applicable programs and locations
  • Creates and communicates weekly reports on admissions progress for both Graduate and Online Undergraduate stakeholders
  • Establishes and monitors use of communication plan designed to move interested students through the recruitment funnel from the point of inquiry to registration
  • Provides weekly feedback through inquiry response and applicant conversion efforts to the VPAA, Deans of Online Undergraduate and the Graduate School, Program Directors, and enrollment personnel
  • Investigates Title IX claims as assigned by the university
  • Serves on academic councils and other university committees, as appointed
  • Regular travel to regional centers is expected; other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Three to five years of comprehensive enrollment experience, preferably with adult student or degree completion recruitment
  • Some administrative experience – including working with budgets – desirable
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with staff, faculty, students and community
  • Ability to lead teams to complete projects
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances
  • Commitment to maintain all university and program policies and procedures
  • Must possess a high level of independence in accomplishing the responsibilities of the position with limited supervision

Education

  • Master’s degree required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
