Incoming Students

Welcome from the Director of the HSP, Dr. Trisha Posey

On behalf of John Brown University's faculty, staff and students I want to thank you for your interest in JBU's Honors Scholars Program. I hope you'll see the Honors Scholars Program as a vibrant, engaging place where you will be challenged to deepen your faith, think about the world in fresh ways and build community with highly motivated students.

The Honors Scholars Program is open to students from all majors because academic excellence is not confined to a particular academic discipline. We recognize that God is pleased whenever students engage in His world, whether they are perfecting chemical reactions, learning better ways of communicating, expanding their understanding of Scripture or creating beautiful art.

Students who participate in the Honors Scholars Program are academically gifted, but our students also excel outside the classroom. Many of our HSP members are student athletes, members of student government and community volunteers. One of our core goals is helping students articulate and live an integrated Christian life, a goal that is accomplished through participation in both curricular and co-curricular activities.

If you are intellectually curious, interested in serving others and devoted to serving as a model of excellence in your academic division, we hope you'll consider joining the Honors Scholars Program by submitting the online application. Please feel free to contact me for more information about the program. You can also find us on Facebook, email me, or give me a call.

May God bless you as you continue on your academic journey!

Very warmly,

Trisha Posey, Ph.D.
Director, Honors Scholars Program
