JBU Prospective Student COVID-19 FAQs

Questions about Admissions, Financial Aid and Campus Visits

Are the Admissions and Financial Aid offices open?
Yes, JBU’s campus including the Admissions and Financial Aid offices will remain open and as fully operational as feasible during this time. You may reach us at 479-524-7454 and admissions@jbu.edu or by contacting your admissions counselor directly.

What is JBU's response to COVID-19? Is campus open?
Face-to-face classes for undergraduate and graduate students were temporarily suspended at the end of Friday, March 13. Please visit the main Coronavirus webpage for details.

What will happen for Fall 2020?
At this time, JBU is hopeful that classes and residential housing will be operating as usual for the Fall 2020 semester.

Have campus visits been canceled?
No. Campus visits at JBU will continue in modified formats that prioritize the health of our visitors, faculty and staff. These offerings are subject to change. To learn more, please visit https://www.jbu.edu/visit/alternative-formats/.

  • On-campus Individual Visits – If you are currently registered for an Individual Visit, you should have received an email with details about your visit. JBU will continue to schedule new on-campus Individual Visits as registrations are made. However, there will be no overnight visits. Your visit will include an in-person, guided campus tour with an Admissions Counselor and the option to schedule video chats with professors and coaches. Links to recorded classes and chapels will be made available.

  • Interactive Livestream Individual Visits – We will offer campus tours and online meetings with faculty and staff all via video chat. Links to recorded classes and chapels will be made available.

  • April 5–6 Preview Day – This event is now the April 6 Interactive Livestream Preview Day. If you are currently registered for the April Preview Day, you should have received an email with details about your visit. We have made this decision because the CDC suggests limiting indoor spaces in which large groups can gather because these areas present a greater risk of transmission.

  • Fall 2020 Preview Days – These events are expected to take place as usual.

Has Eagle Base Camp been canceled?
No. Eagle Base Camp is scheduled to take place online on Saturday, June 13.
