Earn your teaching license or take your teaching to the next level

Request Information

Whether you want to earn your teaching license or wish to take your teaching to the next level, set yourself apart with a Master of Education (MEd) degree from John Brown University.

JBU's MEd program can prepare you for a variety of teaching roles and help you fulfill the requirements for endorsement in Instructional Facilitation. And our Special Education endorsement program prepares students to work in resource or co-taught special education classrooms.

If you already have a bachelor's degree and want to become a teacher, our standard licensure concentration can help provide you with the coursework you need to apply for secondary licensure (grades 7-12) in social studies, math or English.

MEd and MAT courses are seven- or eight-week classes offered in a blended format – both online and in-class. Class meeting times (5:30-7:00 p.m.) offer students the flexibility of being face-to-face with the professor at the JBU Rogers Center, or remotely accessing the class through technology.

Why JBU?

AFFORDABLE: JBU was just ranked a "Best Value" in the south by US News and World Report.

Our faculty are teachers and administrators at some of northwest Arkansas' best public and private secondary and elementary schools and bring their real-world experience into our classrooms. You won't just learn theories from textbooks; you'll learn how to apply what you've learned into your teaching career.

CHRISTIAN: JBU's Christian worldview will help you become equipped to not only master your profession, but understand the world from a unique perspective.
