The John V. Carmack Graduate Counseling Scholarship is named in honor of Professor Emeritus John V. Carmack who served as director of graduate counseling programs at JBU from 2001 to 2017. The Carmack Scholarship is designed to recognize an entering student in the MS in Marriage and Family Therapy program who represents the values of the honoree.

The scholarship will be awarded to one entering student each year and will renew to that student for a total of three consecutive years. 2018-2019 application deadline is March 1, 2018.

Criteria for the scholarship award include:

  • Academic excellence (minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.25 and minimum GRE Verbal score of 145)
  • A record of Christian ministry
  • Career plans to use graduate education to strengthen families and marriages
  • Demonstrated financial need as reflected by submitted FAFSA
