JBU's Master of Arts in Teaching program provides the skills and classroom experience you need to pursue an Arkansas teaching license for primary and secondary education. Study Teaching

In this program, you will be prepared to manage a classroom and create lesson plans. You will also learn how to cater to the specific learning styles of students.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to choose the licensure area that best fits your interests.

Program Length

The M.A.T. is a 36-hour program and can be completed in approximately two years. An additional semester is required of MAT students in order to complete their internship. 

Course Format

Graduate Education programs at JBU are offered in a hybrid format—half of your class sessions are completely online; the other half can be attended either face-to-face OR you can log in to attend online during class time. All face-to-face classes meet at the JBU Rogers Center.
