Study Teaching

JBU's Master of Arts in Teaching program provides the skills and classroom experience you need to obtain an Arkansas teaching license for secondary education (grades 7-12). This is an excellent option if you didn't major in education as an undergraduate student, but have at least 18 credit hours in a specific content area.

Graduate

According to a survey conducted by the JBU Career Development Center for 2018-2019 graduates, 91% of graduate students landed within 6 months of graduation.*

*landed: employed, grad school, volunteer, or military

Program Length

The M.A.T. is a 36-hour program and can be completed in approximately two years. An additional semester is required of MAT students in order to complete their internship.

Course Format

Graduate Education programs at JBU are offered in a hybrid format—half of your class sessions are completely online; the other half can be attended either face-to-face OR you can log in to attend online during class time. All face-to-face classes meet at the JBU Rogers Center.
