Featured Career: Assistant Director of Financial Aid

A Glimpse into the World of a Higher Education Professional

Thursday, July 13, 2017

I get to serve students by walking them through the loan process. Loans can be confusing and can add up quickly. I take this part of my job very seriously; I want to help students make the most of the financial aid opportunities available to them.

Some of my responsibilities include:

  • Counseling students on financial aid options
  • Assisting them with costs of their program with financial aid
  • Helping students figure out how schedule changes will affect their financial aid

What do I love most about my job? I love when my students are affected by JBU in a positive way. There is nothing more satisfying than having a good conversation with a student about how JBU has helped them through a tough time or brought them back to their faith. I have some students who call or email just to tell me how they’re doing, and I love that!

- Erica Kollman, Assistant Director of Financial Aid for Graduate/JBU Online Programs
