Featured Career: Associate Registrar

A Glimpse into the World of a Higher Education Professional

Thursday, June 29, 2017

As associate registrar, my job is to help students make sure they are meeting their graduation requirements by preparing degree audits and evaluating academic records for off-campus work (e.g. transfer work, CLEP exams, ALTA Language exams).

Some of my responsibilities include:

  • Communicating remaining requirements to prospective graduates
  • Communicating commencement information to current students
  • Evaluating and approving academic records for academic work done elsewhere
  • Preparing degree audits
  • Creating courses and registering students for independent studies
  • Advising and registering students for online classes

What do I love most about my job? I enjoy working with students to make sure they are set to graduate. Graduation days are always a joy! I love seeing their excitement as they prepare for a new phase in life, whether it’s grad school or starting a career.
