ESOL Institute

John Brown University is welcoming P-12 teachers to apply for the 2021-2022 ESOL Institute. The University has received a grant from the Arkansas Department of Education that will allow teachers to have the opportunity to earn 12 hours of graduate credit, paid via the scholarship grant. Along with this, teachers may earn an ESL endorsement upon passing the ESL Praxis.

The only cost to participants will be a $25 registration fee and the cost of the Praxis.

JBU will offer two cohort location sites for the institute. One choice will be on the Siloam Springs University campus and two locations within the Rogers School District. During these institutes teachers will take 4 courses addressing, Second Language Acquisition, Teaching People of Other Cultures, Second Language Methodology, and Second Language Assessment. Participants will have the opportunity to work with and hear from experts in the field.
