Ross and Fran Stout Endowed Scholarship for Nursing

Current Endowed Scholarships

Type: Endowed

Donor: The Charles H. Stout Foundation

Established: 2015

The Charles H. Stout Foundation created the Ross and Fran Stout Endowed Scholarship for Nursing Students in memory of Ross Stout, Stout Foundation board member, and in honor of his wife, Fran Stout. The Stout Foundation encourages applications for grants from organizations which were actively supported by Mr. Stout during his lifetime or that would, in the opinion of the Trustees of the foundation, promote values treasured by its founder.

Ross and Fran Stout are long-time residents of Siloam Springs, Arkansas who have enjoyed watching the John Brown University campus grow and improve over the 40+ years in the community. They actively supported JBU students through recommendations to the Stout Foundation on behalf of endowed scholarship grant requests. It is through their commitment and support of JBU that the university now has two scholarships awarded from the Stout Foundation.

Ross and Fran were married for 64 years, prior to Ross’ death in 2013. Ross was an active member of the Siloam Springs community, having graduated from the local school district and later served as the President of Arkansas State Bank. He received the Pioneer Citizen Award from the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce in 2003. Ross and Fran have 3 children, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
