An anonymous giver created the Paul and Lois Kimball Endowed Scholarship to honor Paul Kimball who served on JBU’s faculty for 19 years. Paul received his B.S. in Business Administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and an M.B.A. from the University of Delaware. At one time, he was a U.S. Navy contract auditor. While working at DuPont as the Manager for Cash Operations, Paul subsidized his income by teaching accounting at Widener University in Pennsylvania.  During that time, he became a Christian and had a desire to teach full-time at a Christian university.

When Paul was considering JBU, he asked his wife Lois: “You don’t want to go to Arkansas, do you?”  She replied, “Why not?”  She wanted him to do whatever the Lord wanted him to do. With that, in 1981, Paul began teaching various accounting and business courses at JBU.  He worked on divisional policies promoting consistency and equity and was a strong voice for the professional treatment of students. Paul was one of the original designers of the business internship program. In 1987, he was awarded the JBU Teacher of the Year.

Lois taught second grade in Delaware and also in Siloam Springs.  She served as an ESL tutor at Siloam Springs’ Dogwood Literacy Center and has been involved in leadership with women’s Bible studies and the Gideon Auxiliary for many years.
