Academic Competitive Scholarships

JBU Competitive Scholarships

Scholarship Events: November 11-12, 2018 & February 17-18, 2019

Formal Invitation will be mailed to students who qualify for the Scholarship Events.

  • Acceptance for admission and scholarship application required by November 5, 2018 for the fall event and by February 11, 2019 for the spring event.

  • Test scores may be updated through the October ACT/SAT/CLT for the fall event and through the January ACT/SAT/CLT for the spring event.

  • Students who do not qualify for the fall event but later raise their score may attend the spring event.

  • Students may only attend one event and may receive only one academic scholarship.

  • Priority will be given to the first 100 students who RSVP for each event.

  • JBU does not evaluate the writing portion of ACT or SAT when determining scholarship eligibility.

  • The following amounts are for the 2019-2020 school year.

**International students are ineligible for competitive scholarships. See JBU's International Student Financial Aid page for more information.

**Transfer students are ineligible for competitive scholarships but are eligible to receive merit-based scholarships.

**Only current high school seniors are eligible to compete for competitive scholarships.

**Competitive scholarships may not be combined with the Leadership Scholarship.

Presidential Scholarship – $27,000

ACT/SAT/CLT & GPA Criteria:
ACT 29 (SAT 1350-1380 / CLT 90) – 3.9+ GPA
ACT 30/31 (SAT 1390-1440 / CLT 92-96) – 3.7+ GPA
ACT 32/33 (SAT 1450-1510 / CLT 98-102) – 3.6+ GPA
ACT 34+ (SAT 1520+ / CLT 104+) – 3.5+ GPA

Yearly scholarships awarded: 4

Requirements:

  • Must compete in scholarship competition
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong Christian character

Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA

Chancellor's Scholarship – $13,500

ACT/SAT/CLT & GPA Criteria:
ACT 29 (SAT 1350-1380 / CLT 90) – 3.7+ GPA
ACT 30/31 (SAT 1390-1440 / CLT 92-96) – 3.5+ GPA
ACT 32/33 (SAT 1440-1510 / CLT 98-102) – 3.4+ GPA
ACT 34+ (SAT 1520+ / CLT 104+) – 3.2+ GPA

Yearly scholarships awarded: Limited

Requirements:

  • Must compete in scholarship competition
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong Christian character

Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA

Excellence in Engineering Award – $12,500

ACT / SAT / CLT min: ACT 27 (Math 25) / SAT 1280 (Math 640) / CLT 84 

Yearly scholarships awarded: Limited

Requirements:

  • Must compete in scholarship competition
  • Entering freshman engineering or construction management major
  • Total Awarded 12                       

Renewal: 3.0 cumulative GPA
