A limited number of graduate assistantships, scholarships, and/or fellowships are available each academic year to eligible applicants.

About

John Brown University Department of Graduate Education offers 10 scholarships of $1,000 each ($500 per semester) to students who are pursuing an initial license or additional endorsement in a teacher shortage area as defined by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE). This list is updated annually by ADE and will be used to prioritize the scholarship offers from the Department of Graduate Education. Students will apply annually for the scholarship. 

In order to be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
  1. Be accepted for admission or be enrolled in a graduate degree program (M.Ed. or MAT) within the Department of Graduate Education at JBU.
  2. Maintain full-time status in a Graduate Education program.
  3. Maintain a 3.0 GPA in the program of study.

NOTE: Financial need may be considered, but will not be a primary factor in the selection process.
