Get help paying for school

A limited number of graduate assistantships, scholarships, and/or fellowships are available each academic year to eligible applicants.

John Brown University Graduate Programs offers scholarships in varying amounts to students who will help fulfill the purpose of the diversity scholarships, which is to increase program diversity and strengthen service to various cultural communities.  The scholarships are also intended to encourage the application of new students who will increase diversity in the graduate programs and who will be effective participants in and contributors to an increasingly complex and diverse world.  Scholarship amounts typically range from $500 to $3000 and are awarded for one year only.

Application deadline for the following academic year is March 1.  Depending on funding availability, subsequent deadlines for the scholarship are July 1 and October 1.

In order to be eligible for the scholarship, you must

  1. Be accepted for admission or be enrolled in a graduate degree program at JBU,
  2. Maintain satisfactory academic progress in the program,
  3. Explain how you will increase program diversity and strengthen service to various cultural communities and establish how you will be an effective participant in and contributor to an increasingly complex and diverse world.

NOTE: Financial need may be considered, but will not be a primary factor in the selection process.
