Chapel Group Speakers

Spring 2021

This spring, in lieu of large-group chapels, students are participating in small Chapel Groups across campus during the normal chapel time and listening to messages created for our students by faculty/staff and guest speakers.

Dr. Pollard has been the president of JBU since 2004. Prior to coming to JBU, he taught English at Calvin College and practiced law in Chicago.

D.A. Horton

(Week of February 8)

D.A. Horton serves as Assistant Professor of Intercultural Studies at California Baptist University and as Associate Teaching Pastor at The Grove Community Church in Riverside, California. He has authored eight books, including his latest, Intensional: Kingdom Ethnicity in a Divided World. His visit is sponsored by JBU’s Office of Diversity.

Dr. Cunningham is Associate Professor of Teacher Education at JBU.

 
Skye Jethani

Skye Jethani

(Weeks of March 8 and March 15)

Skye Jethani is an author, speaker, consultant, and ordained pastor. He serves as co-host of The Holy Post podcast and is heard on radio programs around the country. He is a featured preacher on PreachingToday.com and has served as managing and senior editor of Leadership Journal and Director of Mission Advancement for Christianity Today.

Dr. Oliver is Executive Director of the Center for Healthy Relationships at JBU.

Kelli Wessels, a JBU alum, has served as the co-founder and COO of Ezekiel Rain, an organization which has worked for the past 11 years to fight trafficking, heal trauma, and strengthen families in Chiang Rai, Thailand.

Wendy Soderquist Togami

(Week of May 3)

Wendy Soderquist Togami currently serves as the president of the Stenkirke Family Foundation, as well as a consultant and board member to a variety of not-for-profit organizations. She spent 17 years as a founding director and senior leader of the Soderquist Leadership Center, and continues as an adjunct faculty member at JBU.
