The JBU chapel program will be returning to indoor services and normal requirements for Fall 2021 with some adjustments due to COVID-19. Chapel is currently for registered students only, but guests are invited to listen to recorded chapel messages or follow JBU on Instagram for current resources and information.

Gospel of Mark

“[W]hoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:43-45 NIV

Chapel is an integral part of accomplishing John Brown University's mission of providing Christ-centered higher education of the Head, Heart, and Hand. We gather in the context of corporate worship to:

  • better know, love, and glorify God
  • gain His perspective on our learning
  • grow together as a Christ-centered community committed to serving in the world as Jesus's disciples

This fall we will work our way through the Gospel of Mark. As has been our tradition, university professors and staff will be our guides for this study, while guest speakers from outside JBU will provide additional scriptural and educational messages to challenge us in our lives of faith. This semester's program will also include some special emphasis chapels, such as Spiritual Emphasis Week, CHR Relationships Week, World Awareness Week, and Advent.

Chapel services are held each Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Additional chapel opportunities include the student-led Gathering services, Vespers, and other special events approved for chapel credit.

Students can sign in to EagleNet to check their chapel attendance.
