Barry is an Arkansas Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, holding the Supervision and Technology-Assisted Specializations for both licenses. He has presented at state and national professional conferences as well as for churches and community organizations. He is an Associate Professor of Counselor Education at JBU in Little Rock where he also serves as the Little Rock Care Clinic Director.
Dr. Wingfield was the second licensee in Arkansas to obtain the Technology-Assisted Specialty License and has been using it with supervision since 2007. He has been in private practice either part time or full time for the past 15 years and has assisted in the establishment of several growing private practice groups in Central Arkansas.
Dr. Wingfield is a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Religion from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, his master’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce in Counseling, and his doctorate from the University of Louisiana-Monroe with a major in Marriage and Family Therapy. He has served in ministry full time in Texas, Missouri, Louisiana and most recently as a Teaching Pastor at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood, Arkansas. He is the organizer of the Arkansas Christian Counselors and Therapists state-wide network & conference and host of the Arkansas Mental and Relational Health Professions Podcast.
Barry has been married to Alicia for 26 years and they have threegreat kids, one wonderful daughter in law, and a grandson who melts the hearts of them all.
