Mr. Rick Faust earned a Master of Engineering Technologies degree from Pittsburg State University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Minnesota State University at Moorhead in 1979. In 1986, he finished an Associate's Degree in Building Construction from JBU and spent the next several years designing and building homes and other wood-frame structures in Northwest Arkansas and at various locations in the U.S. and Mexico where he led church teams on short-term mission projects. Mr. Faust is a Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD) and in 1991 started his own residential design company, Upright Design, Inc. He specializes in designing local custom homes and custom stock home plans for publication on the internet and through local magazine outlets such as Lowe's. His local custom home designs and stock plans have won awards and have been built in the U.S. and internationally.  As professor of Construction Management at JBU, Mr. Faust has advanced the program in the areas of pre-construction design and the management of building information generated by 3D electronic models. This has led him to participate in a national symposium developing curriculum for the new technology of Virtual Design & Construction.

Mr. Faust is an active bicyclist and archer. He and his wife Connie have three adult children and three grandchildren.
