With her passion for numbers, Kimberly Snipes has worked all of her adult life with First National Bank. She started her career at First National Bank of Fort Smith as an accounting clerk in 1980 and rapidly moved up to Trust Officer –Operations supervisor in 1988 and then to Assistant Vice President-Auditing in 1994 to her current Senior Vice president position in December 2011. Kim was born and raised in Fort Smith, attended Southside High school and then Westark Community College for one year before she decided to focus all of her attention on her growing family and job responsibilities. She returned to her formal education in 2002 at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith where she received her BS degree in Accounting in 2006 and then went on to earn a MBA with emphasis in Leadership and Ethics from John Brown University in 2008.
In addition to her educational accomplishments, Kim has demonstrated another one of her key personal values “You have to keep learning,” by eagerly seeking, and participating in continuing education opportunities in her field of finance, banking and accounting. While life-long learning is expected in banking, Kim has gone way beyond the expected in obtaining three nationally recognized banking certifications and has also attended over 20 career specific courses since 1994.
When asked how she has found the time to accomplish so much in life she attributes it to her commitment to “always giving 110% of yourself,” the ability to manage her time and priorities, and the strong, continued support she receives from her parents, husband Fred, her sons Clinton (Tina) and Scott (Mary), her 7 beautiful grandchildren and FNB President, Sam T. Sicard.
