Civil Engineering Minor

Extend your engineering experience

Civil engineers design, construct and maintain infrastructure projects in the public and private sector. This includes roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, bridges and utility systems.

Supplement your mechanical engineering degree with the civil engineering management minor to build additional skills in the following:

  • land and engineering surveys
  • building structures
  • cost estimating
  • planning
  • scheduling
  • contract administration
  • VDC (virtual design and construction)
  • concrete testing

This minor, coupled with the strong design component of the mechanical engineering program, will position you to manage civil construction projects for large contractors, design firms, or government agencies.
