Screenprinting and Printmaking Studio

The "Print Hive" is a very large and fully equipped screenprinting and printmaking studio in Art East. Using completely non-toxic methods and materials, it contains a 30"x60" Whelan etching press, numerous screens and vacuum tables for screen printing and two light exposure units for working with photo-printmaking processes. This space and equipment allows students to learn and experiment by combining traditional printmaking techniques with cutting edge technology and image-making. We also have a Chandler & Price platen letterpress from the 1890s, two antique letterpress proofing presses and a large collection of wood and metal type that will allow us to incorporate letterpress printing into our students' learning experience.
