Faculty Director

Dr. Becci Rothfuss
BRothfuss@jbu.edu

Hi, I’m Dr. Becci Rothfuss, the faculty director of the Leader Scholars Institute. Siloam Springs is home to me now, but I grew up in Kansas and Colorado. Travel, creativity, hospitality, cooking, developing relationships that matter, and playing board games are a few of the things I love to do in my free time.  As well as directing LSI, I also teach in JBU’s leadership minor. I love leadership! More importantly, I love leadership that furthers God’s kingdom. My passion is helping students grasp how they can impact the Kingdom of God by becoming equipped leaders.

Senior Student Directors

Kamber's Director PictureKamber Burleson
BurlesonK@jbu.edu

Hello! My name is Kamber and I am a senior majoring in marketing. I am from Perryton, a small town at the very top of Texas.  A few of my favorite things to do include baking, crafting, and spending quality time with friends and family! I am an LSI Director because I am passionate about seeing individuals become equipped to use the gifts that the Lord has given them to make a difference for His kingdom. LSI has been such a valuable part of my experience here at JBU, and I am thankful for the opportunity to grow alongside and learn from an incredible group of students who desire to use their gifts and passions for God’s kingdom.

Mallory Coffey
CoffeyM@jbu.edu

Hey everybody! My name is Mallory Coffey. I am a senior Accounting major determined to make accounting less cringe-worthy. I'm a Northwest Arkansas native and currently live in Siloam with my husband, Daulton. I'm a total foodie. I have to really restrain myself to make sure my entire Instagram isn't pictures of food. I love everything about cooking, the fellowship that happens around a table, and the reminder it gives me to slow down and focus on what is right in front of me. While being a foodie has been a recent development, I have been an LSI Director for 3 years now. It has been the best part of my college career. LSI challenges me and keeps me focused on what is most important. I am the queen of filling up my schedule and always adding one more thing, one more thing... But LSI has kept me grounded. It has made me a better accountant, intern, friend, and leader. I would recommend it to any one that is wanting to come out of college a different person than when they came in.

Junior Student Directors

Hanna Wingert
WingertH@jbu.edu

Hi friends! My name is Hanna Wingert and I am a junior  from Wichita, KS. I am a Family and Human Services Major in hope of pursuing a career in counseling and social work. I absolutely love Arkansas and anything from exploring new coffee shops to cliff jumping at a lake somewhere. I also really love spending time with friends over a cup of coffee because I believe that the best conversations usually happen over coffee! I have developed a passion for relationships and people which is a big part of why I am an LSI Director.  I believe Christian leadership is a necessity for thriving communities and part of that is discovering who God has created each of us to be. I love that LSI is all about empowering students to take the gifts God has given them and use them to glorify him through leadership.

Jared Besse
BesseJ@jbu.edu

Hello people! I am Jared Besse a junior who is majoring Political Science at JBU in addition to minoring in both Business Management and Leadership. I am from the Dallas area, specifically from Garland.  I love to read, play card games, drink coffee, and hang out with my friends. I love to travel and have been blessed to be able to travel around Europe, America, Guatemala and more.  I love working at camp with kids, which I have done the past few summers.  I have a passion for helping those around me to find joy in their own passions. I love working on the director team and I can’t wait to see how LSI continues to grow and evolve. I am honored to be a part of a group like LSI that is teaching and equipping leaders for the Kingdom of God.

Sophomore Student Directors

Caitlin Williams
WilliamsCai@jbu.edu

Hello! My name is Caitlin Williams. I am a sophomore Nursing major from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am also pursuing a minor in Intercultural Studies. I love to read, write, go camping, hike, and drink coffee.  Being outside and being with my family are two of my favorite things! I have a passion for international missions and love to see God work in and through teams on short term mission trips. I have been to Peru, Honduras, Zimbabwe, and soon India! I also love to write and have a deep desire to communicate well and encourage others through words. I am an LSI Director because I believe that this generation is full of godly leaders that are called to change the world. I love that LSI develops leadership skills and passions in those that God has called to rise up and make a change! LSI brings out the best in me and challenges me to grow, and it has been an invaluable piece of my journey at JBU.

Jake Smith
SmithJak@jbu.edu

Hey, guys! My name is Jake Smith. I am majoring in Graphic Design here at JBU, as well as minoring in Worship Arts. I was born and raised in Rogers, Arkansas (less than an hour from here), so I absolutely love the Ozarks! I also love writing music, making art—specifically, designing graphics—and learning new things. And, most of all, I really love and enjoy people. It’s so exciting to meet somebody new and let them become a part of my life! Meeting new people is one of the reasons I love LSI. However, as an LSI Director, I have the incredible opportunity to not only meet people, but to be a part of their journey in finding their role in the Kingdom of God. It’s such a privilege, and I am so excited to continue discovering the incredible gifts and passions that my peers have been given for God’s glory.
