Experience music study at the university level

Every day, you will receive a private piano lesson as well as participate in a theory and aural skills class. Additional special topics classes are included throughout the week. Past special topics classes have addressed:

  • memorization techniques
  • the art of interpretation
  • building a solid technique
  • accompanying congregational hymns
  • how to practice effectively

There are opportunities to perform solo and duet repertoire in master classes and recitals. This is a great place to hone your skills in a supportive, Christian environment with JBU faculty and guest artists.

This summer’s program will be led by Dr. Paul Whitley, Associate Professor of Piano at JBU, and William Phemister, Professor Emeritus from Wheaton College.

What's the cost?

Will your student spend all summer cooped up inside? When the time comes to choose a major, will they know what to do? This is a unique opportunity to engage their creative skills and make choosing a major easier. Plus, you'll have the house to yourself for the week.

Registration cost: $400
Includes meals, field trips and project materials

Housing cost: $124.50
