Experience music study at the university level

A week-long intensive designed for students grades 9-12 who are passionate about taking their music making to the next level. Features private lessons and masterclasses in voice and piano, music theory and ear-training classes, jazz improvisation, and training in music technology. The intensive will culminate in a showcase recital performance.

This summer’s program will be led by JBU Music Faculty.

Due to COVID-19 we will be following the protocols listed below for the 2021 Summer Academies:

  • Temperature checks and symptom screening of all students will be done daily.
  • Staff and students must wear close-fitting face coverings to diminish potential spread from individuals who might be asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic for COVID-19. Face coverings are not required while exercising, eating, bathing, swimming, or sleeping.
  • Hand washing is required before and after every meal.
  • Students will be placed in cohorts of 10 students or less. Within cohorts students can be spaced 3 ft apart, except for when eating and drinking. 6ft distancing will be maintained between cohorts.
  • During arrival/departure times we will physically distance and require masks for students and their families.
