Sophomore Matt Dye explains why Northwest Arkansas is "the place to be."
Hi. I’m Matt Dye, and I’m a sophomore Communication major here at JBU. That’s in Northwest Arkansas. Arkansas? You mean like hillbillies and outhouses? Sure, if you hopped in a time machine and went back a hundred and fifty years. Seriously, check this place out. The sophisticated JBU student will enjoy Broadway shows at the Walton Arts Center or the Berry Performing Arts Center right here on campus. Yes that is the original Rosie the Riveter. Get your Norman Rockwell fix at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Professional baseball? We’ve got it. Fifty-nine movie screens. How do you like your malls? Indoor or outdoor? Northwest Arkansas is an outdoorsman’s paradise. We’ve got rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, bouldering, spelunking. Economic opportunities? We’ve got them. You know Fortune 500 companies? They’re right here in Northwest Arkansas, including Fortune number one. Forbes Magazine rated Northwest Arkansas as one of the best places for business and careers. Well, love to stay and tell you more. But my roommate and I are going rock climbing. Then, I’ve got an interview for an internship with an international company. And, I got tickets to that thing my girlfriend likes.
