Dr. Daniel Bennett:
Constitution Day was established several years ago as an amendment to a larger bill and it requires the educational institutions receiving federal funding to recognize and observe the U.S. Constitution once a year. Here at JBU, this year we handed out pocket Constitutions, we also had a flier to hand out as well. Later in the evening we had a talk with some dinner. 49 students showed up which I was very happy with. I think it's good for the students to reflect on where the country is now and connecting its contemporary situation to the Constitution, where it ultimately derives its authority.
