Hi, my name is Austin Hinrichs, and I work with central Arkansas, as well as Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, and the western U.S. I moved here from southern California, where I could get to San Diego, Hollywood, LA, the beach or the mountains, all within a two-hour drive. My wife and I are both musicians and we love playing music together. We're also really invested in our church youth ministry. It's a ton of fun. JBU was a great fit for me because it combines all the things I love. I love being active, so I majored in Exercise Studies. I play the cello and guitar and I love music, so I decided to minor in Worship Arts to continue growing as a musician. I also like working with kids, so the nearby New Life Ranch enabled me to mentor at-risk kids using horsemanship. Moving to JBU from California, I was a little worried that Siloam Springs might not have all the outdoor excitement that I was used to. But with the new kayaking park, the Ozark mountains, fantastic rock climbing, and lakes all around, I'm able to keep active and keep having fun. Well, except for a few hours when the music department sucked me into practice.
Austin's contribution to the office is reminding us all what amazing hair looks like.
If you're coming to JBU, buckle your seatbelt. You're in for wild ride, in which you'll grow spiritually, personally, relationally, and academically. Our motto; Head, Heart, Hand; means that we're all about total life change. So get ready to learn, and get ready to grow. There's no better place to do this than JBU.
