JBU GRANTS FOR FACULTY

 Note that $800 per full-time faculty member is allotted to each college or division for professional development.  Faculty may use these funds for travel to conferences, meetings, workshops, graduate study reimbursement or research/study venues as well as for memberships and journals. Faculty should work with the college dean or division chair for approval of the use of these funds.

  • Supplemental Travel Funds

    • Eligible: all full-time faculty and staff with teaching assignments
    • Brief description: Each faculty member can apply for a maximum of $1,000 for travel during the fall and spring semesters. Note that you must account for the use of your allotted $800 professional development funds.  Travel must take place between August 15 and May 15.

    • Brief description: These grants broadly support professional growth of JBU faculty in the areas of teaching, scholarship, service, and spiritual modeling.  If you are traveling, the trip must take place between May 16 and August 14.

    • Brief description: The purpose of this grant is to support quality scholarship that is motivated and informed by a Christian perspective.  The goal is to provide extra opportunity for faculty to pursue scholarship in their discipline with the objective of producing publishable work.
