Accelerated Learning Lab / Tutorial Services
The Accelerated Learning Lab (ALLab), located in LRC 151, is a place set apart for SSS members which provides tutoring, academic coaching, free printing and resources to help maximize their learning potential. We offer one-on-one and group sessions, as well as drop-in hours, to assist students with most classes. Our Learning Coaches can tutor a wide-range of subjects, help you understand your learning style and offer tips to enable you to study better - not harder. Drop by sometime and check us out!
Spring 2013 ALLab Hours:
- Monday & Wednesday: 10 am - 9 pm
- Tuesday & Thursday: 11:30 am - 9 pm
- Friday: 10 am - 2 pm
Drop-in Tutoring available: Monday - Thursday: 7 pm - 9 pm
One-on-One Sessions Available by Appointment

To Request Tutoring:
Student Support Services members can schedule their own one-on-one appointments through a link to the online scheduling software on their SSS Blackboard page. If you want a reoccurring or group appointment please fill out a Tutor Request Form, or come by the SSS office to talk with Deb Raiees-Dana, Tutor Coordinator. She may also be reached at draiees-dana@jbu.edu or 524-7217.
Our services are limited to SSS participants. If you are not a member please apply now. Students who do not qualify for the SSS program may contact the Academic Assistance Coordinator, Jarrod Heathcote at jheathcote@jbu.edu or 524-7401.
Students using the Accelerated Learning Lab will be required to abide by the
Policies and Procedures.
Becoming a Tutor/Learning Coach:
Interested in working as a Learning Coach? Applications are always being accepted and hiring takes place at the end of each semester for the following term. This is NOT a work study position and training is provided. Anyone with at least 30 completed semester hours and at least a 3.0 GPA can apply. If you like to help people, can communicate well & want a job with flexible hours that pays you to review your classes, please fill out the Application and Faculty Recommendation form.
