Testing Services

John Brown University is a closed testing center and only offers it services to current JBU students, students wanting to attend JBU Graduate program or Degree Completion.

The following tests are offered through the Student Support Services office:

• CLEP (Registration Form | Free Practice Test)
• DANTES
• MAT
• Proctoring tests
• Residual ACT

Scheduling is done on a first come, first serve basis. Please allow 2 hours for each exam, except the ACT which takes 4 hours. The ACT is the only test that is done by paper/pencil. The rest of the tests are completed on the computer.

• CLEP - $80, paid online with a credit card
• DANTES - $80, paid online with a credit card
• MAT - $50, paid by check, credit card or cash

There is an additional $10 administrative fee for each test given and can by paid by either check or cash. Below are the fees for the exams themselves:

Two forms of non-expired ID MUST be presented at the time of testing.
PRIMARY form of ID must be valid, unexpired and contain the candidate’s photograph and signature. These include:

• Driver’s license
• School identification card
• Government-issued identification card or passport

Backpacks and cell phones must be left in the office and not taken into the testing room.
