Weekend Highlights for Family Weekend 2015

Student Theater Presentation:  Pride and Prejudice

Join us for a few hours of fun and excitement as the JBU Department of Music and Theatre presents Pride and Prejudice, adapted by Joseph Hanreddy and J.R. Sullivan from the novel by Jane Austen

The fire and wit of Jane Austen's classic 1813 romance shines through in this vibrant new adaptation.  In an age when marriage is the only option for the five Bennet sisters, and eligible men of fortune are difficult to find, Mrs. Bennet does everything she can to promote her daughters. The family is thrown into an uproar when Mr. Bingley and his handsome friend, Mr. Darcy, arrive in the neighborhood. However, the situation becomes more complicated that anyone expects, especially when the pride and prejudices of the eligible parties conflict with their feelings for each other.

Stick around after the Friday evening show to meet the cast and enjoy light refreshments!

We will offer two identical performances on Saturday. A different panel of students and parents will judge each show and all the points will be totaled to determine the winners, which will be announced simultaneously at the end of the second show in both the Cathedral and the Walker Student Center Atrium (via live feed).

Tickets are $2 per person. ALL tickets must be purchased by your student the week prior to the Show. They will not be available for purchase through the mail or ordered over the phone.

Be a Judge!
Each show requires eight judges--four parents and four students. Parent judges are chosen through a random selection the week before Family Weekend. If chosen, you will receive all judging information in your packet at the registration table. Free admission and reserved seating is provided for judges, their spouse, and student(s). Visit registration page to volunteer.
